The star in the Nul System is a Classical Cepheid star, a yellow supergiant that pulsates every few months. These pulsations cause Nul to swell in size and luminosity by ten to fifteen percent. Attempts to terraform planets have not been successful due to the variable nature of the star, so it has been abandoned. The public and law enforcement consider there to be nothing of interest here, but slavers set up markets here at random places and times to evade detection. Engaging in human trafficking here can be dangerous, however, as modern slavers may be willing to enslave a hapless cargo pilot.
