Kruger Intergalactic, sometimes referred to as Kruger Intergalaktische is a ship manufacturer, known for producing the P-52 Merlin under license for Roberts Space Industries.

History[]

In 2558, Ozell Kruger opened a workshop on Borea in the Magnus System. Seeking to pay tribute to her family's history, she named the fledgling enterprise Kruger Intergalaktische. In the years that followed, Borea experienced a boom, and Kruger's reputation for good work delivered on time and on budget allowed the company to grow and grow.

Borea started to become something of a military hub, which brought a great deal of shipbuilding business to its shores. However, Kruger wasn't a large enough company to make a bid for any of these contracts. Instead, the firm concentrated on supplying components to the companies that could, gradually building its status and size. Around this time, relationships would be forged with Roberts Space Industries and Behring.

By 2751, the bubble had burst on Borea. Civilians and companies alike rushed to flee the system in search of the next hotspot, but Kruger held its own course. CEO Artyom Chansiri bought up property across the planet with a view to further expansion, pledging to keep the company and its workforce based on the planet.

However, Borea would continue to slip into the hands of criminal elements as more and more upstanding citizens left. In 2785, a major pirate attack on a convoy carrying Kruger-produced parts to be delivered to RSI forced Chansiri's hand. Kruger was relocated to Sherman in the Castra system.

The company was welcomed to the planet in 2789, where a memorable speech by President Leon Osborne prompted the firm's two-prong naming structure. Struggling to pronounce 'Intergalaktische', Osborne defaulted to 'Intergalactic', and the two have been used interchangeably ever since.

The relocation to Sherman would prompt a new wave of innovation and expansion for Kruger. An off-hand comment at a meeting would cause the company to refocus from being a parts manufacturer to creating weapons, and later ships, in their complete form. Despite a slow start thanks to little name recognition outside of its industry contacts, Kruger is now one of the leading shipwrights in the 'Verse.
